2018 Contract Negotiations-Bargaining Updates

CAPE will commence negotiations with Los Angeles County in mid-2018. Please check back here for any bargaining updates.

Bargaining Update:

This year, the California Association of Professional Employees will sit across the table from Los Angeles County management to negotiate successor agreements to its MOUs for units 131/132, 501/502 and 511/512.

On March 22, CAPE will conduct a Salary Inequities Seminar for members interested in presenting a salary inequity at negotiations. The seminar takes place on Thursday, March 22 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the CAPE office.

Is your job classification series with Los Angeles County underpaid? Have you experienced recruitment/retention problems or other operational issues in your classification? Then please join us for a seminar focusing on salary inequity presentations for the upcoming 2018 Contract Negotiations.

Salary inequity presentations made by CAPE members to County management in past contract negotiations have helped correct critical staffing and other operational programs for CAPE members.

CAPE members will learn:

  • What is a salary inequity?
  • What criteria has historically been recognized as an inequity
  • The steps to an effective salary inequity presentation
