JOIN CAPE FOR HOMEWALK 2017!
CAPE members are invited to participate for FREE in the United Way's HomeWalk 5K on Saturday, Nov. 18 in Downtown Los Angeles.
We are once again a sponsor for the LA County Federation of Labor's Homeless Heroes team. Our sponsorship through the labor federation benefits the United Way's homeless veterans programs. There is no registration fee for CAPE members and family because of this sponsorship! As a CAPE member, you're invited to join us for the walk - for FREE!
The deadline to register is NOV. 10.
Homeless Heroes is the only HomeWalk team dedicated to raising funds specifically for the United Way's homeless veterans programs. Our Medal of Honor sponsorship goes toward that fundraising. Members can also do individual fundraising as part of the Homeless Heroes team if they so wish, but it is not required.
Last year was our first year participating and we want to grow our team! Last year's Homeless Heroes team was comprised of more than 40 unions, 500 walkers and raised $30,000. REGISTRATION IS FREE TO CAPE MEMBERS! Deadline: Nov. 10.
There are two easy ways to sign up: 1. Email your name, phone number and best email to reach you to [email protected]; or 2. Sign up via the HomeWalk website by using the instructions at the end of this article.
If you email CAPE to register, please be sure to indicate in your RSVP if family members will be joining you and how many.
PLEASE NOTE: No pets are allowed. Service animals only.

8:50 a.m. - 5K Walk Begins
10:00 a.m. - Live DJ, Food Trucks & FREE Activities!

Free parking and shuttle will be available to Homeless Heroes team members. Details to come. A Homeless Heroes t-shirt, which includes CAPE's logo along with other participating unions, may be purchased for a $15 donation through the United Way's AFL-CIO Labor Community Services. Step 1: Check off in the join team section Homeless Heroes
Step 2: You are not committed to raising $100, we have a labor union collective goal but please put in $100 so it can allow you to register.
Step 3: Include the name of your union and local when you get to company or organization.
Step 4: When prompted to make payment Enter the Promo code: HHERO2017 to waive the $25 registration fee.
Step 5: Review registration information and submit.
Step 6: It should allow you to register additional members to your account if need be.
